Danny O’dell Whitmire, Sr., age 57, husband of Marie Hernandez Whitmire of 1749 Chesnee Hwy., Gaffney, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015 at his home. Whitmire was born in Union, April 1, 1957, a son of the late General James Whitmire and Hattie Lou Patterson Whitmire. Parks was the son of Ruth Smith Parks and the late Thomas Bailey Parks. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his partner Clay Harrison, his sister, Caroline Parks Crocker and husband Wayne of Spartanburg, and his brother, Tom Parks of Moore; his nephews Jeff Crocker and wife Yvette and their children Rachel and Caitlyn of Spartanburg; Scott Crocker and wife Kathleen and their children Sophia, Lily, and Mason of Philadelphia, PA., Rhett Crocker and his wife Carrie and their children Ella, Henry, and Luke of Fort Mill and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
